At Overwaitea Foods, our focus is taking care of our customers, while being responsible for the environment we share. This commitment is visible throughout your neighbourhood store where we recycle up to 90% of cardboard, plastics and organics. Your plastic shopping bags, when returned to us, are all recycled into new plastic bags.

Other ways to support our shared concern for the environment are by using our cloth shopping bags available for purchase, by minimizing product packaging through our bulk foods section or by using our pharmacy medication disposal service.

And, by supporting local suppliers, producers and growers, we help reduce carbon emissions related to transportation, while at the same time offering fresh, high quality products.

OFG is one of the first retailers in North America to actively commit to a sustainable seafood approach. We’ve been working with SeaChoice, a nationally recognized seafood program to create a sustainable seafood plan that helps us offer more sustainable seafood options to our customers, as well as the information they need to make the right decisions.
